Getting into the festive spirit, ActiveOps Africa had the pleasure of supporting the Santa Shoebox Project, a project that brings Christmas to those less fortunate.
Originating in Cape Town, The Santa Shoebox Project has so far collected over half a million ‘Santa Shoeboxes’ for children of vulnerable social backgrounds across South Africa and Namibia. The success of the project can largely be attributed to its personal nature – donors give gifts to children whose names, ages and genders are known.
This year the ActiveOps team in South Africa provided shoeboxes for children ranging from newborns to those in their late teens. The team packed the gifts in individual boxes, wrapping and decorating each so that every child could have a keepsake. All boxes were tagged with a label & barcode, ensuring each box is given to the right child.
ActiveOps Sales and Marketing Executive, Charissa Newman commented “It was truly an amazing experience for the ActiveOps team to be part of the Santa Shoebox Project and it was definitely a great opportunity for us to give back to the community”
