Richard Jeffery, CEO and Co-founder

Richard Jeffery is an expert in service operations management. Richard started his career with PA Consulting Group, before moving to Coopers and Lybrand and specialising in organisation, change management and operational effectiveness. He joined specialist consultants OCP as a partner in 1993, where he began the process of developing the framework and toolkit that today is Active Operations Management (ActiveOps). He launched ActiveOps as an independent business in 2005 with fellow OCP partner Neil Bentley.

Neil Bentley, Chief Knowledge Officer and Co-founder

Neil Bentley has been helping organisations to improve their front-line operating performance for over 20 years. Originally qualified in Psychology, he went on to work at Lucas Industries in the 1980s, gaining experience in manufacturing production management, before focusing on financial services and the public sector, first with PA Consulting Group and then as a partner with specialist consultants OCP. He launched ActiveOps with fellow OCP partner Richard Jeffery in 2005. Neil brings with him an unparalleled understanding of the mix of the human and the technical aspects of performance improvement.

John O’Connell, Chairman

John is a high profile London based technology entrepreneur, investor and philanthropist, who founded, floated and sold Staffware plc. He has invested in, and chaired the majority of, 12 technology businesses in the last decade including Opta Sports Data Ltd. John is also currently Chairman of 2 other UK based companies operating in the Enterprise software sector; Active Navigation and Avvio.

He was recognized as a Master of Information Technology by AIM International, is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists.

John is past Chairman and co-owner of (London) Wasps Rugby Club and is co-author of ‘Mastering Your Organization’s Processes’, published by Cambridge University Press.

Sean Finnan, Non-Executive Director

Sean has over 30 years experience driving effective change within some of the world’s leading international organisations. Previously, Sean held a range of major senior services roles at IBM, HP and EDS and was also president of techUK (formerly Intellect). Having seen EDS adopt the ActiveOps method across the majority of its global back office operations, supported by ActiveOps’ leading cloud-based WorkwareTM software, he was already familiar with the business before he ‘jumped at the opportunity’ to get involved in 2014.

Martin Elton, Chief Operating Officer

Martin is responsible for UK business performance, group strategy and product development. Originally qualified in Electronic Engineering, Martin is an experienced general manager having worked in various industry sectors, including commercial insurance, financial markets and automotive retail. Over the course of his career he has run several large projects and operations, as an Associate Partner at Accenture, as a director of Virgin group companies, and as MD of a 1000FTE operation at Xchanging. Martin brings particular skills in complex clerical processing operations, outsourcing and offshoring.

Paddy Deller, Chief Financial Officer

Paddy Deller joined ActiveOps in September 2015 and is responsible for all Financial and Legal matters for the ActiveOps Group.  Paddy has worked with both large multinationals where he was the CFO of various international divisions of Cable & Wireless over a period of 12 years, as well as working with smaller Growth Capital backed businesses.  With a strong focus on Commercial Finance in all areas of the business, Paddy brings significant experience of helping to scale businesses and managing an efficient and effective Finance function.

Julian Harper, Chief Commercial Officer

RedOwl founder and CEO Julian Harper joined the ActiveOps management team as Chief Commercial Officer following the acquisition of RedOwl by ActiveOps in April 2014.  Julian is an seasoned B2B business leader and brings considerable solutions software business development experience to the ActiveOps team.

Kuljit Bawa, Head of Global Sales

Kuljit Bawa is responsible for the ActiveOps sales activities across six international locations. Kuljit has over 25 years experience of assisting major financial services firms to deliver tangible benefit and change through the use of enterprise software. He has worked with the front office, operations and service delivery teams in insurance companies, retail banks, investment banks, fund managers, hedge funds and outsourcing utilities.

Spencer O’Leary, Sales Director

Spencer O’Leary is responsible for sales in Europe and Africa. Spencer has over 20 years’ experience selling at exec level and building, developing and managing sales teams internationally. Prior to this, Spencer worked for 6 years in Operations Management and IT Project Management roles at Barclays Bank. Having been a director and partner in several businesses, Spencer brings with him significant experience in business strategy, organisational development and business growth.

Emma Price, Director of Client Services

Emma Price is responsible for the company’s UK client delivery activities and for customer relationship management globally. She provides support to the regional delivery operations of the wider ActiveOps group in six international locations. Emma has over 15 years’ experience in Operations Management in the Financial Services sector. A certified coach, Emma had worked with a range of service sector organisations focusing on leadership development and performance improvement before joining ActiveOps in 2009. Emma brings particular skills in contact centre and complex clerical processing operations.

Alex Ginger, Managing Director Alliances and Partnerships

Alex Ginger leads the company’s growing alliance and partnership business, establishing relationships world-wide with partners who deliver ActiveOps solutions or use them to enhance their own offerings. Alex was part of the ActiveOps founding group, initially leading customer delivery before running the company’s product development activities. The knowledge acquired through these experiences and Alex’s prior career in operations improvement consulting mean he is ideally suited to helping partners maximise the value of their relationship with ActiveOps.

Richard Shearn, IT Director

Richard Shearn is responsible for the global infrastructure delivering ActiveOps’s software products, Software Development and Customer Services. Originally qualified in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Richard has 22 years experience delivering IT solutions and services to businesses in the Engineering, Pharmaceutical, Commercial Software, Utilities, Retail and Banking sectors.

Joy Vijay Santosh, Managing Director, ActiveOps India

Exec. Vice President, Client Services & Delivery, ActiveOps US

Santosh has over two decades of experience spanning diverse facets of management in the areas of retailing & franchising, HR consulting, education and training, sales and marketing, operations and management consulting involving business across borders. He brings extensive expertise from previous roles held as an Associate Vice President with WNS Global Services, Head of Customer Management at Aviva Global Services and a member of the management team at both Zee Network Education Group and Continental Contractors. Santosh is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management-Bangalore, Alliance Business School-Bangalore and Warwick Business School, UK.

Paul Moroney, Chief Product Officer, ActiveOps Australia

Paul Moroney has led Active Operations Management Australia since 2004 to provide operations management solutions to large organisations primarily based in the service sector. Utilising methodologies, training and software developed in the UK, ActiveOps Australia has transformed the operations capability for clients including Westpac, nab, ANZ, BankWest, Bank of Queensland, Bank of New Zealand, MBF, Fuji Xerox, Capgemini and EDS. Prior to forming ActiveOps Australia Paul held senior positions in large organisations over 20 years, working in manufacturing, telecommunications, banking and business process outsourcing. Roles have included the disciplines of finance, corporate shared services, commerce, operations, project leadership and general management.

Darren Hauschild, Managing Director, ActiveOps Australia

Darren joined ActiveOps AsiaPac as a Director in 2006 owning the growth and management of clients in the region.  He brings extensive corporate practitioner experience to the team having held senior executive positions in Banking, Insurance, Wealth Management and Utilities. His leadership roles included Operations, Technology, Customer Service channels both branch and digital along with sales, marketing, product and strategy across multiple countries.
