Pre-Mobilisation Health Check
Active Operations Management (AOM) revolves around cost, quality & service, the three objectives that all businesses must manage. An organisation needs to deliver a service that meets the quality requirements of the customer, at the lowest cost possible.
The Pre-implementation Health Check assesses how the metrics of Cost (Productivity), Quality, Service & Continuous Improvement conditions are currently managed within an organisation against a four-part competency framework:
- Behaviour: The management approach used; for example, this behaviour could be reactive, controlled or active
- Process: The consistency and comprehensiveness of the management processes employed; a common work management process may be in place, or processes may vary between teams or departments
- Skills: The ability of staff to apply and use the management processes and supporting tools employed; staff may or may not have received formal training in this area.
- Tools: The tools used to support the management processes employed; the right tools could turn a nice theoretical idea (i.e. to be in control) into a practical reality. The Health Check includes a technical review.
The results from this assessment allow us to identify the extent to which performance could be improved through better operations management whilst also rating the organisation’s current operations management capability against the ActiveOps Capability Maturity Model.
