There’s a buzz around the ActiveOps offices right now. Excitement is filling the air. It’s because there’s just four weeks to go until our first Capacity24 event in Toronto!

That’s right, our annual Capacity series of events is back, and bigger than ever. We’ll be hosting operations leaders from around the world in Toronto, London and Melbourne for jam-packed days where we hear from experts in operations, your peers, and some exciting guests from the world of sports.

This year, our theme is Decision Intelligence: with AI inside. Building on 2024’s hype around the advancements in AI, we’re exploring how organizations can use Decision Intelligence with AI to deliver better decisions faster.

In this blog, you’ll discover everything you need to know about Capacity24, from the beautiful venues to the exciting speakers and key issues you’ll hear about.

Where and when is Capacity24 happening?

Capacity24 is taking place in three amazing venues in three cities across the world.

Capacity24 Toronto: 26 September, Arcadian Loft
Overlooking the Old and New City Halls and Nathan Philips Square, the Arcadian Loft is the perfect blend of old-meets-new and a fitting place to host our first Capacity24 event of the year.

Capacity24 London: 10 October, Battersea Power Station
This year we’re hosting Capacity24 at one of London’s iconic landmarks. The conference will take place in The Cinema in the Power Station, and after-event drinks will include a trip up the north-west chimney for a 360° view of the London skyline.

Capacity24 Melbourne: 23 October, Q Events
Q Events is a great venue in the heart of the CBD, and we’re excited that our final Capacity24 event of the year will be here, surrounded by some of Melbourne’s most picturesque gardens and parks.

What’s happening at Capacity24?

Capacity24 is all about Decision Intelligence with AI inside. That means we’ll be sharing the latest AI trends impacting the workforce, giving you practical ways to deploy Decision Intelligence to supercharge operational performance, and connecting AI-driven ops to your business digitization and transformation strategies. And, of course, there’ll be plenty of time to network and learn from your peers in the industry. It’ll be a busy day of keynotes, fireside chats, panel sessions and inspirational talks. Let’s have a whistlestop tour of the highlights:

Keynote speaker:
Joe Lydon, Performance Director, Great Britain Rugby Sevens

ActiveOps is a proud sponsor of the GB7s women’s and men’s teams through 2024 and 2025. For both ActiveOps and Rugby 7s, data and intelligence are at the heart of making good decisions – and we’re thrilled that Joe Lydon is joining us to deliver the keynote at all three Capacity24 events. He’ll be talking about how GB7s use data to drive team performance; we can’t wait to hear what he has to say.

Keynote speakers:
Professor Danny Sampson (on the left) and Stuart Pugh (on the right), Chief Product Officer, ActiveOps

This year Professor Danny Sampson of the University of Melbourne and Stuart Pugh, our Chief Product Officer, have been collaborating on an academic paper covering the latest thinking on a data-driven future for operations, the part that AI will play, and what this could mean for you – and this keynote will take you through the headlines.

Product showcase and labs

Every year at Capacity our product team is unleashed to share what they’ve been working on, and this year is no exception. The team will be sharing the numerous ways they’ve built AI into our Decision Intelligence platform to enable our customers to make the best decisions for their operations, every time.

Particularly exciting updates include:

  • Smart Skills, an AI-generated skills catalogue for your organization that’s constantly refreshed and available in real time.
  • Opi, our virtual AOM coach that can answer a user’s questions, make recommendations based on real-time data, and even automatically generate actions to keep things on track.

Over lunch, the team will also be giving demonstrations of our newest features, so you can see them up close.

Panel discussions and fireside chats

The afternoon of Capacity24 is all about learning from operations experts who are using AI to drive amazing transformation within their organizations. You’ll hear from Ops Game Changes like Ben McManus, who will share his experience leading a transformation program focusing on improving decision-making by becoming more data-centric. We also have a panel session exploring how ops teams will look in an AI-enabled world. The panel will make predictions about what that the Ops team of the future looks like, and the skills needed to solve data challenges and unlock the full potential of AI. You’ll also hear our MORE story chats, including a real-world example of how AI is driving decision-making and leading to genuine operational benefits. On top of that, watch out for a panel discussion with various finalists from our ActiveOps Awards, where they share their top tips and strategies for continual improvement. And finally, each Capacity event will be visited by an elite Olympian athlete who will share their story. In London we’re so excited to hear from Matt Richards, MBE, an Olympic and Double World Champion swimmer. We’ll be announcing our visitors to Toronto and Melbourne soon, keep an eye on our socials.

The ActiveOps Awards – the ultimate treat for ops game changers

After the conference wraps up for the day, we’ll be hosting a gala dinner where we’ll announce the winners of this year’s ActiveOps awards. The ActiveOps awards are a sweet treat for organizations, teams and individuals who are achieving incredible results in operations. This year there are four mouth-watering flavors of award up for grabs – and we’re so excited to get together with all our finalists to celebrate in style.
