Management Team

The ActiveOps management team is comprised of top software developers and experienced operations professionals.

The team has  extensive experience in designing and implementing sustainable cloud-based digital operations management solutions for blue-chip clients around the world.

Board Members

John O’Connell, Chairman

John is a high-profile London-based technology entrepreneur, investor and philanthropist, who founded, floated and sold Staffware plc. He has invested in, and chaired the majority of, twelve technology businesses in the last decade, including Opta Sports Data Ltd. John is also currently Chairman of two other U.K.-based companies operating in the enterprise software sector, Active Navigation and Avvio.

He was recognized as a Master of Information Technology by AIM International. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists.

John is past Chairman and co-owner of (London) Wasps Rugby Club and is co-author of Mastering Your Organization’s Processes, published by Cambridge University Press.

Sean Finnan, Non-Executive Director

Sean has over 30 years’ experience driving effective change within some of the world’s leading international organizations. Previously Sean held a range of major senior services roles at IBM, HP and EDS and was also president of techUK (formerly Intellect). Having seen EDS adopt ActiveOps Workware and the AOM method across the majority of its global back office operations he was already familiar with the business before he jumped on board in 2014.

Neil Bentley, Non Executive Director and Co-Founder

Neil Bentley has been helping organizations to improve their front-line operating performance for over 20 years. Originally qualified in psychology he worked at Lucas Industries in the 1980s to gain experience in manufacturing production management. He then focused on financial services and the public sector, first with PA Consulting Group and then as a partner with specialist consultants OCP. He launched ActiveOps with fellow OCP partner Richard Jeffery in 2005. Neil brings with him an unparalleled understanding of the mix of human and the technical aspects of performance improvement.

Management Team

Richard Jeffery, Group Chief Executive

Richard Jeffery is an expert in service operations management. Richard started his career with PA Consulting Group, before moving to Coopers and Lybrand specializing in organizational change management and operational effectiveness. He joined specialist consultants OCP as a partner in 1993, where he began developing the Active Operations Management (AOM) method and Workware. He launched ActiveOps as an independent business in 2005 with fellow OCP partner Neil Bentley.

Paul Moroney, Chief Product Officer

Paul Moroney led Active Operations Management since 2004 prior to its acquisition by the ActiveOps Group in 2017.  Now as Chief Product Officer for ActiveOps Paul has first-hand experience providing digital operations management and back office workforce optimization solutions to large organizations primarily based in the service sector.  ActiveOps Australia transformed operations capabilities for clients including Westpac, nab, ANZ, Bank of Queensland, MBF and Bank of New Zealand.

Paul held senior positions in large organizations for over 20 years, in manufacturing, telecommunications, banking and business process outsourcing. His roles have included the disciplines of finance, corporate shared services, commerce, operations, project leadership and general management. Paul facilitated MBA subjects in Leadership and Operations Management for 10 years.

Kuljit Bawa, Chief Revenue Officer

Kuljit Bawa is responsible for the ActiveOps sales activities across six international locations. Kuljit has over 25 years’  experience assisting major financial services firms to deliver tangible benefits and change through the use of enterprise software. He has worked with front office, operations and service delivery teams in insurance companies, retail banks, investment banks, fund managers, hedge funds and outsourcing utilities.

Kevin Evans, Chief Technology Officer

Responsible for our international development, customer and application support teams, Kevin will be works closely with customers and partners to accelerate our plans to incorporate artificial intelligence within Workware, thereby ensuring ActiveOps stays in the forefront of the digital transformation of back offices.

Kevin holds a BSc (Hons) (First Class) in Technology Management and is currently studying for a PhD in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Information Security at the University of Bradford. Kevin joins ActiveOps from Sun Branding Systems where he held the position of Chief Information Officer. Previously, Kevin held senior roles at Access Intelligence Plc, Vital Technology Group and Wingas UK.

Paddy Deller, Chief Financial Officer

Paddy Deller joined ActiveOps in September 2015 and is responsible for all financial and legal matters for the ActiveOps Group. Paddy has worked with large multinationals, where he was CFO of various international divisions of Cable & Wireless over a period of 12 years, as well as with smaller growth capital-backed businesses. With a strong focus on commercial finance in all areas of the business, Paddy brings significant experience to scale businesses and manage an efficient and effective finance function.

Regional and Partner Channel Management Team

Alex Ginger, Managing Director Alliances and Partnerships

Alex Ginger leads the company’s growing alliance and partnership business, establishing relationships world-wide with partners who deliver ActiveOps solutions or use them to enhance their own offerings. Alex was part of the ActiveOps founding group, initially leading customer delivery before running the company’s product development activities. The knowledge acquired through these experiences, along with Alex’s prior career in operations improvement consulting, makes him ideally suited to assist partners in maximizing the value of their ActiveOps relationship.

Julian Harper, CEO ActiveOps North America

Julian Harper joined the ActiveOps management team as Chief Commercial Officer following the acquisition of RedOwl by ActiveOps in April 2014.  Julian is a seasoned B2B business leader and brings considerable solutions software business development experience to the ActiveOps team.  Julian is leading the expansion of ActiveOps North America operations.

Emma Price, Head of Customer Success

Emma leads our activities globally assuring and supporting customer retention and success.  She has 15 years of operations management and back office workforce optimization experience within the financial services industry, where she was responsible for large operations and improvement projects. As a certified coach Emma worked with a range of organizations for leadership development and performance improvement before joining ActiveOps in 2010.

Darren Hauschild, Managing Director, ActiveOps AsiaPac

Darren joined ActiveOps AsiaPac as a Director in 2006 owning the growth and management of clients in the region. Having held senior executive positions in banking, insurance, wealth management and utilities he brings extensive corporate practitioner experience to the team. His leadership roles included Operations, Technology, Customer Service channels (both branch and digital), along with sales, marketing, product and strategy across multiple countries.

Joy Vijay Santosh, Managing Director, ActiveOps India

Exec. Vice President, Client Services & Delivery, ActiveOps US

Santosh has more than two decades of experience with cross-border businesses spanning diverse facets of management in the areas of retailing and franchising, HR consulting, education and training, sales and marketing, operations and management consulting. He brings extensive expertise from previous roles as an Associate Vice President with WNS Global Services, Head of Customer Management at Aviva Global Services and a member of the management team at both Zee Network Education Group and Continental Contractors. Santosh is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management-Bangalore, Alliance Business School-Bangalore and Warwick Business School, U.K.

Paula Brown, Managing Director, ActiveOps Africa

Paula joined ActiveOps in 2010 and leads our growing business in the Africa Region. She has over 20 years’ international experience at senior management levels in the IT, consulting and operations industries, with particular focus on the financial services sector.

Paula’s passion lies in delivering service excellence to our clients. Paula holds an MBA (cum laude) from the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business and is an alumnus of Warwick Business School, U.K.
